Howard L (Bud) Ground
President of Common Ground Consulting, LLC
Mr. Ground’s enthusiastic entrepreneurial spirit lead
him to retire after a 35-year career in the electric utility
industry and start Common Ground Consulting, LLC to consult
and assist companies with navigating through the state regulatory
and legislative maze. As an energy and environmental executive his
background reflects strengths in organizational and departmental
leadership, integrated resource planning, and multi-million dollar
budgetary accountability within a Fortune 500 business environment.
His diverse background and experience includes engineering,
production, operations, departmental management, environmental compliance,
integrated resource planning, regulatory and legislative lobbying.
He has also been an adjunct professor at University of Central Oklahoma
for the past 6 years.
Bud’s regulatory experience coupled with his reputation as a genuine,
straight-forward lobbyist is one-of-a-kind in the state of Oklahoma.
He values relationships, hard work, and honest dealings. His experience
and relationships are what makes him a valued member of the lobbying
community in Oklahoma. Bud received is Bachelors of Science degree
from Oklahoma State University and an MBA from Oklahoma City University.
Bud is married with three grown children and three grandchildren.
He enjoys OSU football, gardening, woodworking, and brewing his own
special ales. He is a member of the Edmond Chamber and State Chamber
Legislative committees, American Society of Mechanical Engineers and
volunteers his time as an advisor on the OSU Environmental Science
Graduate Program Board and with Leadership Oklahoma.
Adria Ground Berry
Executive VP of Common Ground Consulting, LLC
Adria earned her Juris Doctorate from The University of Tulsa College of Law
where she also received a Certificate in Public Policy and Regulation.
She was the recipient of a public service award during her time there as
well as the leader of a public interest group. Along with volunteering
many hours of pro bono work to organizations like Legal Aid and the
John 3:16 mission, Adria worked in the campus legal clinic for a semester.
Her professional background includes teaching at the secondary and college
levels, working at a criminal defense firm, and doing contract work on a
multi-billion dollar oil & gas lawsuit. She enjoys strategizing for clients, conduting thorough research on any given topic, and engaging with legislators and fellow lobbyists to ensure that client interests are served.
Adria’s husband Brad is an Assistant Principal at Central Middle School in Edmond who comes from a coaching and teaching background. They have two daughters, Adele (5) and Zoey (2) and two old dogs. They enjoy outdoor activities and spending time together exploring Oklahoma.
